Overview
If you use an iPhone and want to save RedNote (Xiaohongshu) videos, this guide covers all available methods — from the built-in app feature to browser-based tools.
Method 1: RedNote App Built-In Save
The easiest approach is through the RedNote app itself:
- Open the RedNote app and find the video post.
- Tap the share icon at the bottom right.
- In the share sheet, select "Save video".
- The video downloads to your Photos app / Camera Roll.
Note: This option only appears when the creator has enabled saving on their post.
Method 2: Online Downloader in Safari
- In RedNote, tap share then "Copy link."
- Open Safari and go to rednote.savevideodown.com.
- Paste the link and tap Get Video.
- When the download button appears, tap and hold it, then choose "Download Linked File."
- The file saves to your Files app. Move to Photos from there if needed.
Method 3: Screen Recording
- Add Screen Recording to your Control Center via Settings.
- Swipe down, tap the record button, and play your video.
- Tap the red status bar when done and select Stop. The recording saves to Photos.
Troubleshooting
- No "Save Video" option: The creator has disabled saving. Use an online tool instead.
- Safari download fails: Try tap-and-hold on the download link and select "Download Linked File."
- Video won't play: Rename the file to .mp4 if it has an unusual extension.
