Our Story
RedNote (known in China as Xiaohongshu / 小红书) grew from a niche lifestyle app into one of the world's fastest-growing social platforms — yet downloading your own content was always surprisingly difficult. Every tool available was either bloated with ads, required an account, or stopped working after a platform update.
In early 2024, a small team of independent developers decided to build a better solution. The goal: a tool that works reliably, respects your privacy, and never gets in the way. No popups. No mandatory sign-up. No tricks. Just paste a RedNote link and save your video in the same HD quality it was originally uploaded in.
We launched SaveVideoDown in January 2024. Within months it became one of the most-used free RedNote downloaders online, serving over 12,000 users every month across 11 languages.
